Hello, my name is Chris and I am the proud owner and operator of Jim’s Laundry Services Norwood.  In providing a mobile laundry service, I receive great satisfaction in helping you free up your time. I love my neighbourhood as I have lived in the eastern Adelaide suburbs most of my life, and in one of my previous occupations (police officer), my work was based in Norwood for about 24 years.

Through my close connections with the area, I love the familiar feel, having seen many changes to the landscape over the years.  Despite the changes, Norwood still has maintained a lot of its suburban character, with a multitude of cafes and smaller shops, choice of 3 supermarkets, as well as a cinema complex housing some of our regular take-away restaurants Grill’d and Zambrero.

Being a coffee connoisseur, I seek out some of the smaller cafes such as Pave and those in nearby suburb of Kent Town such as Tell Henry, Cafetal & Pogo.  I see Norwood as a great base to work from.

I first heard about Jim’s Laundry at a BNI business networking meeting whilst still working in real estate.  Our chapter’s Business Broker Paul gave a brief introduction to franchisors Will and Jerome, who then gave a presentation about the Jim’s Laundry Services franchise opportunities in South Australia.  I approached them after the meeting to get more information and followed up with multiple phone calls.

I had never previously considered a franchise business, but here I saw the opportunity to be my own boss in a business which offered a lot of flexibility, a great support network and reward for effort.  I was ready for a change from the real estate industry, so this inspired me to do more research about Jim’s Laundry Services.  I came to the conclusion that with Jim’s I will be able to have successful business without the need to continuously prospect for new clients as I did in my previous job, having the support of Jim’s national call centre for new leads as required.

My immediate goal for the business is to become proficient in all tasks related to the laundry business, and grow and maintain a good client list quickly through providing excellent service.  In the meantime I aim to get some larger commercial clients on board, with the view to network with other Jim’s franchisees.  In time I would like to involve my family in the business as growth allows for extra wages.

I love spending a lot of my free time with family.  I also like to make time for about half an hour every day to have a quality coffee with family and friends.

On weekends and after hours, I like to spend time outside on our property, maintaining our fruit and nut trees, and vegetable and ornamental garden beds using organic principles, and looking after our pets, including our 4 miniature goats.  My favourite holiday destination is Cape Tribulation in Far North Queensland.
