What’s Next for Jim’s Laundry? Exploring Future Growth

Jim’s Laundry Services has quickly become a growing part of the Jim’s Group network. More franchisees are joining the division every year. This growth has created new opportunities across Australia. So, what comes next for us? Our leadership team recently shared insights into the division’s future. The outlook is positive. More growth and new opportunities are expected.

One of the Fastest Divisions in Jim’s Group History

Moreover, Jim’s Laundry Services has had one of the quickest uptakes of any new division Jim’s Group has ever introduced. That’s a significant achievement, considering Jim’s Group has spent over 40 years building trusted franchise brands across categories like mowing, cleaning, pest control, and building inspections.

A big part of that success comes down to leadership. Bill Cobanoglu, who heads the division, has already built a network of more than 180 franchisees. Additionally, he’s an experienced and well-regarded operator within the Jim’s Group, understanding what makes a franchise system work in practice.

Why Laundry Works So Well as a Franchise

What makes this division stand out isn’t only the pace of growth. It’s who the model is attracting. Jim’s Laundry Services appeals to a different type of franchisee than some of our other divisions.

For many prospective franchisees, the choice is often between different Jim’s divisions, such as mowing, fencing, handyman work, or pest control. Laundry tends to sit apart from that comparison:

  • A different demographic – we draw interest from people who weren’t necessarily considering our other services
  • Home-based flexibility – the business can be run from home, which matters for people managing young families
  • Time over income – flexibility, rather than pay alone, is one of the most common reasons franchisees choose us. Being able to work around family commitments is a particular draw for this division

That means Jim’s Laundry Services is helping grow the overall laundry franchisee family, bringing in owners who might not otherwise have joined the group.

From a Single Van to a Full Laundromat

Laundry franchising doesn’t have to stay small. While some of our franchisees run the by themselves, most of our operators follow a bigger path:

  1. Started as a standard Jim’s Laundry franchise
  2. Built up regular clients
  3. Won a few large commercial contract
  4. Employed staff
  5. Bought a laundromat or dry cleaning store to handle the added volume

It’s a great example of what’s possible. As with every Jim’s division, there’s no fixed ceiling on how far your franchise can grow. You can stay a one-person, one-van operation, or scale into a business with a team and a central facility if demand supports it. The choice, and the pace, is yours.

Where the Numbers Are Headed

Our growth outlook remains strong. We’re on track to reach somewhere close to 200 franchisees by the end of the year, continuing the momentum we’ve built since launch.

That growth is backed by what we already offer today:

  • Free pickup and delivery across Australia and New Zealand
  • A national call centre for enquiries and quotes
  • Australian-made, environmentally friendly detergents
  • No lock-in contracts for customers
  • The unique Jim’s Pay For Work Guarantee, giving you the confidence to leave the 9-to-5 behind. As with all Jim’s Group divisions, the guarantee works alongside minimum activity requirements, so we’d encourage anyone interested to speak with our team directly for the full details

We’re also welcoming new franchisees regularly, with recent additions taking on territories in states including Western Australia. Our expansion isn’t slowing down.

What’s Next for the Division

Looking ahead, a few things are likely over the coming months. Franchisee numbers should keep climbing toward the 200 mark and beyond, with Bill Cobanoglu continuing to lead that expansion. More territories are likely to open up, particularly in areas that don’t yet have a local Jim’s Laundry operator.

And as more franchisees pick up larger commercial contracts, some may follow a similar path toward bigger, staffed operations, just like the laundromat story above. We’re still in the early stages of a much longer growth curve.

The Bigger Picture

Jim’s Laundry Services is a division built on a solid foundation: experienced leadership, a franchisee family that looks different from our more traditional divisions, and a business model flexible enough to suit a solo home-based operator or a larger operation with staff and a dedicated facility.

If you’ve been considering becoming your own boss, Jim’s Laundry Services could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for. Get in touch with our team today to find out more about franchise opportunities in your area.
